This year’s SEMA Show is once again the perfect venue for automakers to display their brand new toys for big boys. The Las Vegas Convention Center is home to enough bespoke vehicles to fill your dreams for the next six months, but Ford’s Transit Connect Hot Wheels concept the 2013 Van of the Year in our book.
Loaded with custom features inside and out, the “hot rod van” was created by Michigan-based specialist Ice 9 Group together with Ford and Hot Wheels. The plain hauler was turned into a spectacular orange-striped blue show-stopper that’s been fitted with 18-inch tablets, a 55-inch TV screen, gullwing doors and a built-in Hot Wheels drag strip.

The van gained a new Focus RS-insired front fascia and bumpers, 20-inch wheels, a custom dual stock-car style side pipes, a Ford Fiesta rear diffuser, a Ford Mustang Boss-inspired front splitter, while power is provided by a 2.5-liter Ti-VCT four-cylinder engine.

Unfortunately, this van won’t become a limited-edition production car as some would hope, but Ford says Hot Wheels will release 1:64 scale die-cast models of the vehicle next year.
