Ford to Launch Edge SUV in Europe

Ford want to take advantage of the ever growing SUV market in Europe with a more complete line of vehicles.
The American Escape crossover built on the same platform as the Fiesta will be replacing the Kuga soon, while the Brazilian-designed EcoSport will slot underneath, built on the same B3 platform as the Fiesta. At the “Go Further” even in Amerstadam, Ford also announced that the Edge, a larger and more “premium vehicle already popular in North America”, will complete the range.

However, they did not give details of an expected launch date, instead option to release a video showing he 2013 Ford Edge sold in America.

The Edge was launched in 2006 in America and received a facelift, which also ‘gave’ it the 2.0L EcoBoost engine and more equipment. It’s built on the CD3 platform, also used by the old Mazda6 and Fusion sedans.
