The Australian division of Ford announced the release of a new Mondeo called Titanium, a special version of the popular sedan which comes with standard features usually seen on premium models. The new Mondeo is especially supposed to help the parent company determine how much Australian buyers are willing to pay for a Ford, drive.com.au reported today citing the company's vice president of marketing and sales, Beth Donovan.
Active cruise control, adaptive headlights and voice recognition features, are all available as standard on the new Mondeo.
“We felt we had an opportunity at the upper end of the range," Donovan was quoted as saying by the aforementioned source. “I think we’ve seen that in other markets where maybe they were buying more upscale retail clothing and now they’ve come down a little bit,” she said.
Beside the technologies we told you about, the Titanium version of the Mondeo also comes with a sports body kit comprising a new front grille, restyles front and rear bumpers, fog lights and lowered body.
"I think we’ve seen that in other markets where maybe they were buying more upscale retail clothing and now they’ve come down a little bit,” she says. “Titanium’s a great-looking vehicle. It’s great value for the money and I think that maybe some of those customers might come to us and say, ‘I can get everything I want with this package'"
Ford's Titanium Mondeo is priced at $41,990 for the gasoline version and $45,990 for the diesel unit, more affordable compared to its rivals VW Passat and Peugeot 407.
