Ford's Jim Farley Apologizes For Dropping The F-Bomb On GM

Things at Ford Motor Co. are starting to cool down, as Jim Farley, head of global marketing , sales and service is doing his best to smooths things over with his fellow execs at General Motors. As we have previous relatedJim Farley dropped the “F” bomb on GM.

As it was originally written in a pre-publication sample from the book Once Upon a Car by New York Times reporter Bill Vlasic, Ford’s head of global marketing sales and service Jim Farley did some trash talking about his colleagues at GM.

"We're going to beat on them, and it's going to be fun," the book quotes Farley as saying. "F*** GM," he said. "I hate them and their company and what they stand for. And I hate the way they're succeeding."

After that he added: "I'm going to beat Chevrolet on the head with a bat. And I'm going to enjoy it." In a press meeting meeting on Thursday, Farley said he has reached out and called GM marketing chief Joel Ewanick to apologize for the inappropriate approach.

"No one respects the competition more than Jim Farley. I told them I respect what they've done." Jim Farley told reporters at an industry conference sponsored by the University of Michigan as related by the aforementioned source. When Farley was asked if there could be a slight chance that he could had been misquoted, he declined to comment further. It seems that things are starting to go back on a steady course for Ford.
