Ford Ranger With Prior Design Widebody Is All-Black and Aggressive
German tuning company Prior Design has just given us a fresh look at its widebody kit for the Ranger. This fits any version of the Ford truck made since 2011, dialing up the aggression to the max.
Prior is a capable shop on the Lower Rhine that usually targets the most exotic German machines from Audi, Porsche, or Mercedes. But pickup trucks are probably rarer than Cayennes and X5 in Europe, so they can get a lot of attention.

A custom pickup like this one can be a powerful anti-statement while still serving the role of a family vehicle. For the 2019 model year, Ford returned the Ranger to its model range in America. But the eight-year hiatus never happened in Europe. That's why this kit is said to fit anything that came after 2011, even though that technically means two separate generations.

The cosmetic makeover begins at the front with a new front bumper, which mirrors the look of a Raptor version. The silver bottom plate is accompanied by a new grille, all sold for €590 ($715). Optionally, you could order a Prior logo in carbon fiber, but we don't see the point.

The main attraction is the widebody kit consisting of eight individual parts, which not only look cool but make room for wider tires to be fitted. Prior offers anything from 18- to 20-inch alloys, and a suspension lift can also be had. Finally, the rear received a new bumper and a wing over the tailgate. Altogether, these parts cost €5,200, which is equivalent to $6,300.

Also, the German tuner can raise the bar in the interior department using materials such as leather and Alcantara. You can see a little bit of that in the video below. Upon request, the entire body kit is available in real carbon fiber, for an extravagant and high-quality look. But we'd wait until the next Ranger comes out before spending that kind of money.
