Ford Ranger to Make UK Debut at CV Show

Ford is prepared to offer a complex experience for attenders of the UK’s Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC, Birmingham, with the carmaker’s top event being the British debut of the new Ranger, which will be displayed alongside the company’s range of current models and a few future vehicles.

"With the CV Show reverting to its traditional format this year, we are delighted to be in attendance and supporting the message of innovation and development in road transport. We will be exhibiting a comprehensive range of our existing vehicles and some of our exciting future models. The show presents a fantastic opportunity for us to meet with many important customers,” said Steve Clary, commercial vehicles director, Ford of Britain.

"Despite the recent economic turbulence, Ford has continued to heavily invest in exciting and technologically advanced vehicles for the CV industry."

The Ranger will hit the British market in November, offering three cab body styles, 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains, two ride heights and four series choices. The vehicle is powered be two new common-rail Ford Duratorq TDCI diesels, a 2.2 liter four-cylinder unit that delivers 150 hp & 375 Nm of torque and a 3.2 liter five-cylinder powerplant, which produces 200 hp and 470 Nm of torque.

The list of other important vehicles to be displayed includes the Transit Connect Electric, the company’s zero-emission, electric-powered incarnation of the lights commercial vehicle, as well as the Transit range with the new Stage V engines, which use Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) with vaporiser technology that collects over 95 per cent of all engine soot emissions.
