With certain exceptions, such as the recently-developed breed of premium hot hatches, the go-fast hatchback genre has been known to deliver some of the crappiest interiors for the money. Unfortunately, we now have what is probably the worst example of that, coming from a second-gen Ford Focus RS.
Sure, the cabin of this 300 hp madness was never that bad, but this is not your average RS. Oh no. This hatch may be hot, but it was unlucky enough to have been abandoned... on the bottom of a lake.

Various sources indicate the Focus RS was part of a ten-vehicle group that were dumped into a lake situated south of Maastricht, The Netherlands. None of the vehicles had license plates, but this is where the details about the strange happening end. The local authorities are currently investigating the matter.

The outside of the Focus RS doesn’t show anything all that special - we’ve all seen Focus rally cars gather enough mud to fill out a lake. However, the interior is nothing short of shocking. Everything, from those Recaro seats to the gauges showing the boost level of the 2.5-liter turbocharged engines, is covered in the nasty stuff. Quite a lot of it.
