Ford’s third generation Focus sedan which has already been available in Europe and the US for over a year has entered production in Thailand. From the Blue Oval’s factory, it will be available locally in August, and will also be exported to places like Malaysia and Australia.
Ford invested $450 million into the advanced Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) facility in Rayong, which will produce both the five-door hatchback version and the sedan. The factory can produce up to six different models and will also make the EcoSport small crossover in the near future.
In Thailand, the Focus will be available with Duratec 2.0L Ti-VCT GDi (gasoline direct injection) with 170 horsepower or the Duratec 1.6 litre Ti-VCT with 125 horsepower.
The car also comes with advanced new features like active vents and Ford's SYNC system.
