Ford Focus Global Test Drive Coming via Facebook

Ford has big plans for the new global Focus and the company is preparing a Global Test Drive early next year in order to receive feedback from customers and offer them the possibility to experience the vehicle.

The event will be held in southern Europe, with the location scheduled to be revealed next month. The program will include a variety of driving exercises that are aimed at offering participants an early look at the new Focus, as well as allow them to enjoy several high-speed activities.

Starting from today, the Focus’s Facebook page invites friends and fans from around the world to submit video applications explaining why they should be included in the Focus Global Test Drive. The event will also offer money for charities, allowing test drivers to choose where the funds go to.

The application process invites prospective test drivers to “start more than a car” by providing the market equivalent of $10,000 for a charity they are passionate about, under the categories of hunger, education and environment/sustainability,” stated the press release.

The participants for the event will be selected based on a range of criteria including individual creative content, social networking appeal and the number of votes received.

With a total of up to $500,000 to be distributed across driver-preferred charities, participants will have the opportunity to “start more than a car”. Ford gets some early feedback on a critical new global vehicle while drivers and their guests will savor an exhilarating international experience, and charitable organizations will benefit,” stated the press release.
