Usually when Consumer Reports does a review, auto engineer Tom Mutschler comes out. But a supermini hot hatch is not something a middle-aged man with a mustache and checkered shit (sorry Tom) will appreciate.
So for their first spin in the Ford Fiesta ST, somebody a little younger came out. Ryan Pszczolkowski is a technician, but he has the right spirit for the review. After all, it's not everyday that sensible old Ford comes out with a rival to the MINI Cooper S.

Ryan says the ST is one of the most responsive cars they've tested. They make a good point about the Recaro seats as well, saying that some people won't like the tightness. You might not even need this expensive optional extra. If you're a big fellow, you might want to avoid them, especially since this is a subcompact.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
