Here’s a piece of information that took us by surprise (at first both eyebrows of our collective face were raised but now only one of them is): UK, Spain, Switzerland and Austria are the top warm hatch demanding markets in Europe.

This is how Ford Europe explains the introduction of a sporty special edition for the Fiesta only for the aforementioned markets. We are talking about the Fiesta Sport+ model. The new model can be ordered with the 1.6 liter petrol engine delivering 120 HP or with the 1.6 liter diesel unit that offers 95 HP. It can be easily distinguished thanks to its styling kit, comprising of a redesigned front bumper that features a flared lower part, new side skirts, a rear spoiler and a fresh rear spoiler that integrates a diffuser.

The Sport+ can be dressed in two exterior color schemes. The first one, “Frozen White”, features Performance Blue GT stripes on the roof and bonnet and dynamic side stripes, while the second one, “Performance Blue”, uses white stripes. The car rides on “Frozen White”-finished alloy rims: the petrol version gets 17 inch wheels featuring 205/40 R17 rubber and the diesel uses 16 inch rims wrapped in 195/45 R16 tires.

The interior of the car features special badging and offers heated sport seats that come in a leather finish. The same material is used for the steering wheel (the element also features blue stitching), handbrake cover and gearshift knob. The vehicle’s floor mats also feature blue stitching.

We’re still waiting for the ST version and for the ceasing of the discrimination.
