Ford Motor Company has announced that its Chinese sales have increase by 53 percent last month, with total deliveries reaching 94,466 units, compared to 61,567 examples distributed the same month last year.
Ford’s passenger car joint venture - Changan Ford Automobile (CAF) - sold 70,038 vehicles, up 51 percent compared to January 2013 (43,269 cars). Jiangling Motors Corporation, the manufacturer’s commercial vehicle investment in China, sold 21,868 units, posting a 28 percent year-over-year growth (17,136 vehicles in January 2013).
Ford China passenger car sales, which also include imported cars, accounted for 72,598 examples, which translates into an increase of 63 percent compared to January 2013 (44,439 units).
The company’s best-selling vehicle in China last month was the Ford Focus - with 36,385 units delivered (up 8 percent). Ford Mondeo sales, on the other hand, jumped 51 percent to 10,704 cars.
