Force India to Resume Testing in March 2009

Force India will resume testing on their 2009 machineries as early as March next year. The announcement was made through racing driver Adrian Sutil, who admitted that he will have a hard time adjusting to the new regulations considering he'll only be testing the 2009-spec car for a few laps before the season opener in Australia.

“That's for sure a problem. But I can't change it. And if I'm honest, it's better to start in March with a good car than to test in February with a bad one,” admitted Sutil earlier today for Formula One News. The German has tested only once for his team in the offseason, at Barcelona, and is well behind in getting used to the new aerodynamic package, as well as the standard slick tires for 2009.

Unlike teammate and F1 veteran Giancarlo Fisichella, Sutil will be competing on slick tires for the first time in Formula 1. However, the German is very confident that the team's new partnership with McLaren Mercedes will be a step forward to securing his first points in the drivers' classification.

“I believe it will be a start (of a new era). The partnership with McLaren-Mercedes will help us have a much better car in 2009 and to have better results. Every one in our team is very positive about the partnership. We all believe that 2009 will bring us up to the midfield and that we will score points in 2009,” added Sutil.

As for his chances to retaining his racing seat in Formula 1 throughout the upcoming seasons, Sutil admitted he will try to make the most of what he'll be offered. He insisted the day will come when he'll be thinking more about scoring podiums rather than worrying if he'll have a job or not.

“It's not easy to stay motivated and focused all the time if you know that your car is not good enough for better positions. But at the end of the day I'm happy to be in F1 and I will get my chance in the future.”
