Force India Boss Praises Adrian Sutil, Hints to Deal Extension

Force India is the only team in Formula 1 right now that doesn't have at least one confirmed driver for the 2011 season, yet the signs that come from their Silverstone headquarters are pointing to one direction: Adrian Sutil will surely be inside one of the two VJM04 cars through the upcoming campaign.

And we reached that conclusion after listening to the team's chief operating officer Otmar Szafnauer, who recently praised the German driver and put him in the same class with world champions Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.

He is sometimes almost too honest," Szafnauer said in a recent interview with Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, speaking about the Force India racer. “In terms of driving, he sits directly behind Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel and Kubica among the category of the top drivers in Formula One.

His comments were echoed by none other than the team's very owner Vijay Mallya, who also praised the German's contribution inside the Force India garage and “expects this upwards trend to continue.” Which basically means that Sutil will again lead the Force India lineup for a 6th consecutive campaign.

Talking about his progression in the Great Circus with the Silverstone based team – Sutil has never driven for any other team since making his F1 debut in 2006 – the 71-grand prix veteran admitted a major role in Force India's progress lately goes down to their new partnership with McLaren.

The organisation is better, Mercedes and McLaren have helped us and our design department is working professionally,” he said said recently.
