Focus Rally: America Kicks Off

The months of preparation for one of Ford most anticipated social events of the year, Focus Rally: America, have ended. Today, the car maker will kick off the competition which will see six teams race against one another for a chance to win $100,000 for the team and a brand new Ford Focus for each of its members.

The rally will kick off is style, in Miami, and will take directly towards the Super Bowl. On Sunday, the competition will be at the center of the “Focus Rally: America Pre-Kick” show on Fox. After that, the rally moves on the streets and on social networks.

“Raising consumer awareness about the new 2012 Focus via Focus Rally: America is our top priority right now,” said Matt VanDyke, Ford’s director of U.S. Marketing Communications, motivating Ford's efforts with this endeavor. “That is why we jumped at the opportunity to get the Focus rally into the Super Bowl Pre-Kick show.”

The teams which will compete for the prize and glory are Ingot Silver (Jeff Nash and Margot Baill),Yellow Blaze (Bryn Drescher and Donna Ruko), Red Candy (Brittany Boddington and Matt Farah), Blue Candy (Adam Lustick and Clayton Early), Black (Benjamin Kemp and Michael Pericolosi) and Sterling Grey (John Jung and Carolyn Bee).

Aside for competing against one another, each of the teams will have to win the hearts and minds of the fans, who can influence the outcome of the rally by playing along and participating online or through a mobile digital experience in the competition.
