When they heard about the hundreds of Fisker Karmas that has been destroyed by hurricane Sandy, most automotive enthuziasts wondered what would happen if they pulled all the electric guys out of a reclaimed car and filled the space up with a big, American V8.
Well, it’s been done! Destino, an exotic car company founded by Gilbert Villereal of VL Automotive and former General Motors Vice Chairman Bob Lutz, has created the V8 Karma.

It’s called the Destino and the sad news is, it doesn’t look as good as the Karma, even though very little has changed. Production will reportedly begin later this year, but until then a prototype will be shown at the Detroit Auto Show.

The Destino will be powered by the most powerful Corvette engine, the one found in the ZR1, a 640 horsepower beast that should have no problem besting the old electric drivetrain.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
