Really hot... A few days ago, we brought to your attention the first ever commercial meant to promote Fisker's Karma plug-in sports car. As you all have seen, it was perhaps one of the most boring commercials we've seen in recent years, filled with cliches and lacking any “juice” whatsoever.
That first bad impression is about to change, however. Fisker seems to have found the perfect visual identity for its first vehicle. Created by Lambesis, the new Karma ad is just what Fisker needed to give its car a personality.
When the agency was hired, Fisker said it has chosen it for it's "ability to create iconic, global communications is second to none and connect emotional and cultural relevance with true design aesthetic.”
We'll not tell you what you'll see in the video. Suffice to say, we have a very sexy hybrid, a (probably) sexy woman with a cube of ice and the promise of 100 mpg (2.3l/100 km). We'll let you discover all of this, as well as whether Lambesis managed to connect emotional and cultural relevance with true design aesthetic in the video below.
As for the more technical aspects of the Karma, it will come equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged direct injection petrol engine and an electric motor. Together, they provide a 80.5 km (50 miles) electric range and a total autonomy of 482 km (300 miles).
The Karma can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than six seconds, with top speed rated at 201 km/h (125 mph). The car will be built at Wilmington Assembly in 2012, when the plant is ready to accommodate production.
