After it subjected nine advertising agencies to a rigorous testing procedure, green car manufacturer Fisker announced late last week it has picked Lambesis as global advertising agency of record.
According to Marti Eulberg, vice president of global sales and marketing for Fisker, the agency has been chosen for it's "ability to create iconic, global communications is second to none and connect emotional and cultural relevance with true design aesthetic.”
“The future of driving proves we can drive environmentally responsible cars without sacrificing the emotional things that made us fall in love with cars in the first place,” Henrik Fisker, Fisker's CEO said according to Autonews. “Lambesis shares our vision and will help bring it to life across the globe."
According to the advertising agency, the first order of business will be to redo the carmaker's website, a project scheduled to be completed by fall. Not an easy task, some might say, as Fisker is the agency's first automotive client.
The first encounter Fisker will have with its future and potential customers will be at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show next month, where the carmaker will present the advanced aluminum space frame underpinning which is featured on the car. Built around Fisker's Q-DRIVE series-hybrid powertrain (2.0l turbocharged ECOTEC engine/generator set, lithium-ion battery pack and a rear-mounted 403hp traction motor assembly), the space frame balances weight and size.
Fisker Karma, which made its first public appearance at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show, will be priced at 78,780 euros, without VAT, and will be sold in Europe through a dealership network of 40 stores. According to rumors, it will be ready for sale as soon as summer this year.
