In an effort to dissipate the Toyota GT 86’s power shortage, ROH Wheels and MRT Performance in Sydney, Australia, made the first twin-charged GT 86.
The GT 86 received a Bullet/Sprintex Supercharger and an AVO Turbo kit, which together with a modified factory ECU, increased the power from 200 hp/205 Nm to 227 hp/224 Nm.
“We have been building fast modified road cars for a lot of years here at MRT and understand what ROH wanted from 86 Project: a better, faster and improved version of an already dynamic car but still reliable to drive everyday” said MRT Performance spokesman Brett Middleton.
The project also received a six-button ceramic clutch from Xtreme to help with the increased load on the driveline. Also the ECU was programmed to rev-match the engine on downshifts under braking.
