First Mercedes-AMG GT "Second Hand" Models Pop Up Online

Let the Porsche, Audi and BMW people say what they want, the AMG GT is a far more interesting sportscar than anything they offer right now… except maybe the i8. The point is, this thing check all the right boxes, just like the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, and is thus very desirable.

Just like any sought-after car, there's a waiting list for the AMG GT. But if you're willing to put up with a few kilometers on the odometer, there are second hand cars you can buy right now.

We checked on the German website and found dozens of AMG GT models. Most are show with press photos or nothing at all, so they're not really interesting. But we found a few that are worth buying and can be seen in the metal.

The cheapest is a black model registered at the beginning of the month and currently sitting in the parking lot of Onyx Sportwagen GmbH. Even though it's the 510 horsepower S model and has only 23 km (16 miles), it can be yours for a very reasonable €164,890.

For €182,500, you can have a silver example fitted with the Burmester stereo system which every Mercedes fan is crazy about. It's available through HBW-Handelsangentur located in Barsbüttel. They say the silver body color is from the designo line and the Nappa leather interior is another optional extra.

For the record, your local Mercedes dealer can sell the basic 462 hp version of the AMG GT for €115,430 and the hardcore 510 hp model we talked about starts at €134,351. That's cheap compared to the old SLS, but you do lose the naturally aspirated engine and the awesome gullwing doors.

The key highlight of this car is an all-new 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, the same one used by the new C63 sedan. Power is sent out from under that long nose to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (transaxle) with electronically controlled limited slip differential (standard on the AMG GT S). We don't know if it's a Porsche 911 killer, but we definitely need a cold shower now.
