Slowly and steadily, the most popular brand from General Motors has updated, refreshed, or brought all-new generations for its most important models. Unfortunately, there is also some profoundly saddening news amidst all that positive effort.
If you look at Chevy's roster, the crossover and SUV areas are top-notch right now. For example, the electric Bolt is officially getting a new generation, the Trax and Trailblazer are squeaky fresh, Equinox and Blazer EV models are incoming, and there is also an all-new 2024 Traverse plus the refreshed 2025 Tahoe and Suburban in the pipeline.

The trucks are not doing bad either – the all-new Chevy Colorado is gaining lots of accolades, and the Silverado EV (at least in WT form) is finally out and about, with the RST also coming to dealerships 'soon.' Only the passenger car side of the business is partially limping – the sixth-generation Camaro is a disappointment for the corner office head honchos and is getting retirement papers without a planned successor. On the other hand, the 2024 Malibu mid-size sedan and the marvelous C8 Corvette are soldiering on without any fears of reprisals.

Interestingly, some folks can't believe the Camaro is going the way of the dodo and would see it transformed as the rumor mill portrayed it not long ago – as a reformed member of the crossover SUV sector. In fact, some people will even take matters into their own hands to see that happen. Or rather, they will use their CGI brushes for that, as is the case with the imaginative realm of digital car content creators.

More precisely, the good folks over at the Rcars and PoloTo channels on YouTube have a soft spot for iconic Chevrolet nameplates and want us to indulge in their CGI visions – again. After they recently showcased the design projects of their respective pixel masters as revivals of the beloved Chevrolet Impala SS and the next generation of the popular yet affordable Malibu, they are now morphing the Camaro into something else.

More precisely, they want us to believe the hypothetical Camaro SUV "will be the most anticipated" crossover SUV in America. Well, although I believe the CGI experts from both the Rcars and PoloTo channels on YouTube have the best of digital intentions, I also think it would be hard to justify the introduction of an (ICE-powered) Chevy Camaro SUV.

First of all, because the virtual design projects are both a little bland (especially the crimson one from PoloTo, the other one is a bit feistier – though not by much). Secondly – and much more importantly – Chevrolet already has a massive roster of crossovers and SUVs, including one that looks like the designers tried to simulate a Camaro riding on stilts, aka the regular Blazer. And we all know that it's not Chevrolet's most popular CUV, right?
