Fire-Spitting Ferrari 458 Shows Why the Aftermarket Can Harm Your Supercar

With the Ferrari 458 having now exited the scene, there's an important part of the supercar audience that acts as if all the extraordinary feats of the mid-engined Prancing Horse have been forgotten overnight.
The surgical precision offered when you go into maximum attack mode, the sheer growl of the 4.5-liter V8, none of that matters to these people, simply because they want to focus on the 488 GTB. You know, the more-than-a-twin-turbo-458 that can battle it out with the McLaren 650S that made the 12C irrelevant in a similar manner to the one described above.

However, with 458 prices now dropping, the part of the used supercar market clientele that enjoys placing the focus on attention can't wait to grab one of these Fezzas.

The only problem is that these people can't simply buy a 458 and drive it. That would be so yesterday, right?

Instead, they turn to the aftermarket side of the supercar world. With the demand for supped-up 458 increasing, tuners are making efforts to constantly keep up and the machine in the video below serves as the perfect example of this.

Don't get us wrong - we're not saying custom bits destined for supercars such as this Maranello creation are all irrelevant. The Armytrix exhaust system, for instance, is a nice bit of kit that allows the now-extinct naturally aspirated Ferrari V8 to express its feelings. And with the driver being able to control the valves using a smartphone app, you can't criticize this flaming exhaust system.

However, when the more or less carbon body kit resembles the lower front fascia of a Ferrari F12berlinetta, taste suddenly appears to become debatable.

You can't stop this supply and demand chain, so at least you should be prepared to see more and more faces of the 458-gone-peacocking trend. On 22-inch custom wheels, of course.
