Fiat has announced that the new 500L, a five-door version of their supermini, will receive a whole range of engines borrowed from other models, including the 0.9-liter TwinAir, the 1.3-liter diesel engine when it launches in Europe later this year and the regular 1.4-liter.
Produced at the Serbian plant in Kragujevac, the Fiat 500L will become available in Europe starting from the last quarter of 2012. We’re pretty sure judging by the way Fiat describes the idea behind the car that it will also roll off the same North American production line as the regular 500.
There will be a choice of 30 colors for the body and no less than three tones for the wheels white, gray or black.
If they ever make the Abarth 500L, would they need a sexy plus-size Italian model for the commercial?
Look for our live coverage of the 500L from the Geneva Motor Show, which starts March 6th.
