As we're closely watching FCA's press website for news on the 2016 Fiat 500 facelift, we couldn't miss the release of the retro-looking 500c 1957 Edition.
If you still remember the Fiat 500 1957 Edition hatchback from last year, you're in for a cabrio déja-vu. In essence, the Fiat 500 Cabrio 1957 Edition adds a "premium dual-layer" power-operated textile roof, a "contemporary solution to the famous canvas roof of the original Cinquecento".

The retracting roof is operated just as it would be in a standard Fiat 500c: it can be deployed to the rear spoiler at speeds up to 60 mph (96 km/h). In addition, it can retract behind the rear head restraints at speeds up to 50 mph (80 km/h).

The model only comes with FCA's 1.4-liter MultiAir engine and offers 102 HP plus 132 Nm (98 lb-ft) of torque. Clients can exploit those smooth performances via a standard five-speed manual gearbox or through the optional 6-speed auto transmission.

Your new 'La Dolce Vita' kind-of-feelings generator also comes with a choice of classic exterior colours -Bianco (white), Verde Chiaro (light green) or Celeste (celestial blue) - and 16-inch retro wheels inspired by the original 1957 Fiat "Nuova" Cinquecento.

On the inside, the Italians went for a the same vintage look previewed by the exterior and used an Avorio (ivory) interior environment contrasted by premium Marrone (brown) leather seats.

The blast-from-the-past wannabe cabrio has a starting price of $24,700, which is $1,900 more than a base Fiat 500c Lounge. Orders are now open, and dealerships should see the first batch of cars coming in this spring.
