While French and Italian cars are not renowned for their excellent residuals, Fiat comes to contradict us with the 500, which, in the UK, has been named among the top 10 depreciation-resistant cars. This conclusion has been reached after analyzing the prices of the over 100,000 units sold so far in Britain.
Apparently, the pick of the range when it comes to value is the base 1.2-liter ‘Pop’ which only costs £9,960 to begin with (almost £10,000 less than the 500C by Gucci). According to the experts, the 1.2 car gets picked, thanks to “a fun character and good fuel economy, without having to resort to a distinctly un-chic diesel engine.”
Fiat UK’s Marketing Director, Elena Bernardelli, said “I am delighted that the Fiat 500 has again received the praise it deserves [. . .] It’s clear that our customers are benefitting from its remarkable depreciation record, and I’m pleased that industry experts appreciate it too.”
