A Swiss company called Velvet Cars has just released the first photos of a Fiat 500 Abarth wrapped in Blue Velvet. And you know us, when we see something that's blue and totally original, we feel the need to share and make smurf references.
At a glance, this looks like it used to be a regular Abarth model, not an esseesse, though there's nothing regular about it any more. Black wheels, black door mirrors and door handles contrast against the smurf-ness of it all. Even the brake calipers have been covered in a dab of blue for visual effect.
We really want to know if the owner of this car is a girl who's a huge fan of Smurfette or a guy with weird taste in cars.
Not much is known about this project from Switzerland and unfortunately the wrappers haven't released too many photos either. However, we've managed to find another company called I Want Velvet, who did a regular 500 in red velvet last year. You can check both out in the gallery below.
Since the Fiat 500 Abarth is basically a tuner job and can be ordered with a high-strung 180 hp 1.4-liter turbo (on high-end 695 models), not a lot of companies have tried to change it. However, Romeo Ferraris, Zender, G-Tech and even Hamann have come up with some pretty amazing projects over the years. We'll let you decide if this blue velvet makeover deserves to be among them.
