Ferrari Will Debut Second F10 Next Week

While other teams are preparing for their car launches prior to the second test of the off-season, at Jerez de la Frontera, Ferrari confirmed their testing schedule for the aforementioned meeting. If Felipe Massa debuted the new Ferrari F10 in Valencia last week, it will now be Fernando Alonso's turn to take the car to the track first, during the first two days of testing.

Consequently, Massa will get to take over from Alonso for the last 2 days of testing, namely February 12 and 13. As announced by the Scuderia, the 2010 single-seater has already been sent to Jerez following the Valencia test, as it will feature some mechanical changes for the second test of the winter.

Fernando Alonso will start on the track the first two days, followed by Felipe Massa, who will sit behind the wheel as of Friday 12. The F10 already arrived in Jerez after the revision done last Wednesday night in Valencia. The car’s configuration will substantially remain the same compared to its debut: there will be only some mechanical updates,” said the statement from Ferrari.

Weather may cause some problems to the F1 teams that are scheduled to test their car in Jerez this week, as moderate rain is forecasted for the majority of the week. Updates on the weather reports are expected to surface in the media any time soon.

Additionally, Ferrari confirmed work on the F10's second chassis, which will most likely debut during the 3rd test meeting of the month of February, also to be held at Jerez.

Meanwhile in Maranello the work on the assembly of the F10’s second chassis goes on briskly. This single-seater will be used during the third test session, held again in Jerez, from 17 to 20 February,” added Ferrari.
