Ferrari President Demands F1 Title with F150

Present at Ferrari's launch event of its new F150 single-seater, president Luca di Montezemolo reminded everyone what their goal will be in 2011: win the title. After a couple of years during which Ferrari wasn't even close to fighting for the title in the manufacturers race, the F150 should mark the Prancing Horse's return to greatness.

This year we have to win and we will do our best to win,” said di Montezemolo. “We have updated the team, we have made some improvements and we are awaiting the challenges against our first opponents,” he added, when talking to the members of the media during the team's launch event, at Maranello.

Ferrari chose the F150 designation with the word “Italianity” in mind, suggesting the celebration of 150 years of Italian unity. The last time Ferrari dedicated the name of its F1 challenger to a similar celebration was in 2009, when the F60 marked 60 years of Ferrari in Formula One. Our only hope is that things go down differently this year, since the F60 was a disaster, bagging only one win throughout the entire season.

The F150 was created with a very simple aim - and it is so simple I don't want to say it. We only have to achieve it,” added Ferrari's team principal Stefano Domenicali in Maranello.

We are starting from a season where we had difficult moments, but we also experienced some beautiful moments. We want to work on and build from these beautiful moments. Our team is motivated and has been renewed – and that is in the logic of continuous improvement.”

As revealed by the team's technical director Aldo Costa earlier this week, Domenicali confirmed that the car will go through some aerodynamic changes prior to the season opener in Bahrain, as wind tunnel work is still not over.
