Smoking is never good for your health, even when you're a supercar. Sure, tailpipes are supposed to have such habits, but when the smoke comes from the engine compartment, that can big a big issue.
Now, imagine such an adventure taking place right in the middle of an auction. For a Ferrari Enzo. That's exactly what happened over the weekend during a massive event held by Mecum Auctions.

The Enzo's engine compartment started sending smoke signals just as the senior Maranello halo car was about to hit the auction block. Judging by what we can see in the piece of footage below, we are, most likely, dealing with clutch smoke.

Truth be told, the automated manual setup found on the Ferrari Enzo can easily lead to such issues if the driver isn't used to this kind of feature. And while we don't know what the Mecum employee who took the car out of its parking spot did, the video does show one of his colleagues trying to push the car by putting his hand on one of the taillights.

Yes, the Enzo had to be pushed through its under-the-hammer process. The Prancing Horse did eventually manage to overcome its issue once it exited the auction facility, as we can see the vehicle being driven away under its own power.

However, as we mentioned in the title, the Fezza still managed to fetch $2,15 million. This is what happens when talking about a machine that Ferrari only produced in 400 examples, with the Black shade of this example making it uber-rare.

And, given the fact that these cars are now between 12 and 14 years old, those who buy them expect failures such as the one seen here. Hopefully, the fresh owner of the V12 beast knows his way around parking an automated manual contraption.
