Stephen Harris was a former employee working as a car technician at Kent High Performance Cars - which trades as The Ferrari Centre in Maidstone, Kent. The 31-year old’s job was not only to fix and maintain Prancing Horses, but also to test them on the road to check if all was well before giving them back to their owners. Sound’s like a dream job, right?
Well, not really, since Harris was severely injured while test driving a Ferrari 348 TS and he crashed on a UK road doing 80 mph. He was reportedly told by the company to take it all the way up to 100mph, but he lost control of the car and crashed. According to the Telegraph, police reports suggest the Ferrari had some technical defects, which could have led to the crash.
Harris was left paralyzed from the neck down and needs constant medical care, but Owner of Kent High Performance Cars Roger Collingwood says “All staff are told that under no circumstance can they break the laws of the road and they are never to exceed the speed limit.”
