Italian manufacturer Ferrari has released new photos of their Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano boasting the Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione (HGTE) package, intended to further emphasize Ferrari's sportiness and handling.
From the design standpoint, the HGTE package includes both exterior and interior tweaks. Ferrari introduced for the package new 20-inch split-rim wheels, with a special diamond-cut and matte silver finish. To underline the GTB's new stance and highlight the chromed tail pipes, the Italian designers gave the rear diffusers a matte black color.
As for performances, the HGTE package brings evolved car electronics to ensure prompt response to the driver's commands. The F1 gearbox's shifts are now even faster in high-performance settings, while a new engine software strategy has improved accelerator response.
HGTE includes stiffer springs and rear anti-roll bar, as well as new calibration settings for the magnetorheological (a type of smart fluid that becomes viscoelastic solid when magnetized) shock absorbers. The ride has been lowered to bring the car's center of gravity closer to the ground and improve handling.
On the inside, the seats are trimmed in a new two-tone leather with Alcantara inserts on the front, while the back is trimmed entirely in carbon fiber. To set the interior even more apart, the headrests feature embroidered Prancing Horse and the "Handling GTE" mark.
The HGTE package is yet to be released, as its entry to the market is expected to be in late 2009, early 2010. The estimated base price for the package is said to be at around 17,000 pounds (approximately $25,000).
