FC Barcelona to Open the Audi Cup

Just named kings of the entire Europe, the footballers from one of Spain's most beloved teams, FC Barcelona, are not planning a very long vacation any time soon. After the challenging games of the Primera and the even more so games in Champions League, Barcelona is getting ready to make the headlines once again, this time in Germany.

On July 26, Messi and Co. will head for Munich, where Audi is staging the Audi Cup, a mini-tournament that will see Barcelona fight against other big names of the soccer world: AC Milan, the winner of the Campeonato Gaucho de Futebol, Sport Club Internacional de Porto Alegre, and the host, FC Bayern München.

Barcelona's participation in the tournament comes as a result of a long time partnership between the car maker and the football club. Many of the team's star figures, including coach Josep Guardiola, who for the past five years is exclusively using Audi models.

“After the team has won the Spanish championship, Audi now also extends congratulations on the title win at the pinnacle of European soccer and looks forward to seeing the team again in Munich,” said the German automaker when announcing Barcelona's participation in the tournament.

The Audi Cup is expected to be one of the major shows of the summer soccer break. According to the four-ringed brand, so far some 75,000 tickets have been sold to the games which will be held on the Allianz Arena. Some more tickets are still available, and can be purchased or reserved at the following link.
