South Korean automaker Kia has confirmed that the European version of its brand new second-generation 2014 Soul will be introduced to the public at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
Based on the latest Kia Cee’d platform, which is said to provide greatly improved ride and handling, the 2014 Soul debuts with a “funky” new design, increased interior and luggage space, reduced CO2 emissions and “high levels of specification and customization”.
More interior and luggage space means that the 2014 Soul is also slightly larger, having a longer wheelbase, wider track, and a cargo area of 354 liters (4 percent more when compared with the outgoing model).
The new crossover will receive the 1.6-liter petrol and CRDi diesel engines from the previous generation, but with improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions, although no figures have been revealed at the time of writing. The all-new 2014 Kia Soul will go on sale across Europe early next year.
