The express car wash concept has been around for quite a while and, at least in terms of popular solutions, nobody seems to be ready to come up with a solution that would speed things up even more.
However, one elderly driver in California managed to record what might just be the quickest clean-up job ever, at least in the "actual car wash" category.
The man, who is said to be 94, drove his Oldsmobile (we guess the pun wasn't intended) Alero at full speed through the car wash. While this did take place about one year ago, we've just come across the footage and wanted to share it with you.
With an estimated speed of 40 mph (65 km/h), the cruise nearly saw a confused employee getting hit. As you can expect, the hardware at the location wasn't exactly untouched - the damage caused by the driver is expected to sit anywhere between $60,000 and $100,000. The facility's insurance covered it anyway.
The Oldsmobile exited the express wash facility still speeding, with the crash-assisted parking job at the end making for a grand finale.
The driver, who is reportedly 94, explained he confused the pedals and was overwhelmed, so he couldn't stop the car in time.
Speaking of which, another customer had exited the parking lot a few seconds before the crashing arrival of the Alero. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident, with the elderly driver being picked up by a family member.
The car wash was closed over the course of the weekend that followed the incident, but they didn't let that affect the business.
The facility in question is Quick Quack Car Wash franchise, and after the extreme episode took place at the company's 49 Bicentennial Circle, Sacramento, CA location, they decided to put it all to advertising use.
Adding a theme song that admittedly sticks with you for quite some time, the company went to YouTube.
