Here’s a little blast from the past, a car that we would never expect to see in an old and very civilized city like Hamburg - the EDO Competition Ferrari California Spider, one of the first ever projects dedicated to the Maranello hard-top convertible. Yet Youtube user *supercarkingshamburg, captured one black example with yellow stripes prowling the night and howling away under acceleration.
Last we checked, EDO tweaked the California to produce 500 horsepower, thanks to some ECU recalibration and custom exhaust, which features adjustable butterfly valves and custom designed high flow catalytic converters. The combination of the exhaust system and the remapped engine makes the car reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h (196 mph).
Cosmetically, the California is enhanced by a set of 20-inch wheel that also sit closer to the arches thanks to a sport suspension system.
