This is by far one of the most enjoyable wagon comparisons we have ever seen. Taking one of the world's rarest and fastest station wagons and pitting it against a custom wagon with a body from 1952 is something that only Johnny Lieberman from Motor Trend could ever do.
As you might already know, the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG S-Model Wagon is the fastest accelerating stock station wagon in the world, beating even the latest Audi RS6.
Its 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time is a staggering 3.7 seconds, while the 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) measured by Motor Trend sits at an unbelievable 3.4 seconds, with the quarter mile (402 m) done in just 11.7 seconds.
The Icon Derelict, on the other hand, doesn't even come close to the AMG's performance, since we're technically talking about a 61-year-old Chrysler wagon that's been upgraded by the guys at Icon to a more modern specification.
Featuring a 6.1-liter normally aspirated V8 from the Dodge Charger, with around 460 hp and 624 Nm (460 lb ft), the Icon Derelict can reach 97 km/h (60 mph) in a reasonably fast 5.1 seconds, with the quarter mile (402 m) arriving at 13.9 seconds.
As we were saying, the E 63 AMG S-Model Wagon is no match for it, since its twin-turbocharged M157 V8 develops 585 hp and 800 Nm (590 lb ft) of torque. In the end, though, the numbers for both cars aren't that important, but you better watch the video to get a better impression about what this odd comparison really wanted to achieve.
