Fiery end for a road racing event 1 photo

Being burned alive is not exactly the best or desirable way to put an end to motorcycle racing. However, as far-fetched such a mishap may seem to most of us, the video after the jump is just the right way to prove such things do in fact, happen.
The incident takes place during a road racing event in New Zealand and is a series of both unfortunate and lucky moments.

As high-siding is of course, a nasty was to end a race, what ensues is almost Final Destination-class action. As the leading Ducati flips and apparently receives the initial fuel tank damage, the third bike smashes into it and the petrol is sprayed violently all over the camera bike and rider.

As more crashing takes place behind, metal scraping against the asphalt ignites the leaked fuel and the whole scene is set ablaze. Luckily and almost inexplicably, the camera rider does not catch on fire and makes it safe and sound.

I guess you'll all agree that fuel shower looked horrible and my heart skipped a beat. Right now I can almost feel the burning taste of petrol on my lips.
