It’s a good thing to vent when you’re feeling angry or frustrated, but punching and wrecking other people’s property is neither legal nor exactly very nice.
It happened in Cambridge, Massachusetts, when a drunken 27-year-old later identified as William Kleschinsky walked down a street and punched the side mirrors off 24 cars. Yes, he was very angry, Boston25News reports. Apparently, he couldn’t find an Uber.
His victims were alerted by what was happening by the noise Kleschinsky was making as he was passing down the street, the same media outlet notes. An eyewitness told the police that the supposed car wrecker Santa hat hanging from one of his pockets, which is ironic if you consider his very Grinch-like gesture.
Police caught up with him farther down the street, only minutes later. They were able to identify him immediately by the Santa hat dangling from his pocket and by his bloody hand, which he had used to smash the side mirrors on all 24 cars.
And here’s the biggest irony of the story: Kleschinsky was in court on 24 charges of malicious damage to a motor vehicle and was set free on just a $300 bail. That’s the smallest amount his victims have to pay out of their own pockets for the damage he caused to their cars. And even with the Christmas spirit, they can’t forgive him for forcing them to add to their expenses this holiday season.
“It’s definitely not the spirit of Christmas, unfortunately he had a little too much fun,” one of his victims tells the media outlet.
“I get it, you had a hard time, you were drunk you couldn’t get what you wanted but that doesn’t mean you go around destroying people’s property,” another says, adding that she will have to take the money from the amount she would have otherwise spent on presents.
