Doug Randolph Named Crew Chief for Steve Wallace

A shift in the way in which the Nationwide Series is being run for Rusty Wallace Racing will take place next season, after the team announced the naming of Doug Randolph as the crew chief for Steve Wallace's No. 66 Toyota.

Randolph is accustomed with the way things work in NASCAR's second most important series, having worked in the past for Richard Childress Racing (RCR), Earnhardt Ganassi Racing and Petty Enterprises.

His last involvement in the Nationwide Series took place in 2009, when he worked as a crew chief for Clint Bowyer from RCR and his No. 29. The two managed to win the Daytona and Dover races that year.

“We're very excited to add Doug Randolph to our organization," RWR general manager Larry Carter said according to NASCAR. "I've known Doug for a while and he's a really talented guy. He brings a lot of valuable experience to our team, including a lot of experience with the [new car]. We're all looking forward to working with him."

The new crew chief will be replacing Wallace's current coordinator, Scott McDougall, who has been named in this position in the beginning of the year. The reasons behind the replacement were not made public.

"I'm really looking forward to working with Steve Wallace and the 5-Hour Energy team," Randolph said. "Steve's definitely been one of the most improved drivers the last couple of years and has really developed into one of the best Nationwide Series guys out there.”

"This team has a lot of potential too; I'm looking forward to continuing to build this program and hopefully being one of the contenders for the Nationwide Series championship in 2011."
