American manufacturer Chrysler is gearing up for the launch of the new Durango model in a manner in which we haven't seen in quite some time. All the tricks used for marketing new car models today, including teaser images, teaser videos and even leaked information are part of the game, a game which Chrysler does not usually play anymore.
For the Durango however, the carmaker must have thought it's worth the effort. After last week the first images showing the usual nothing we see in a teaser image surfaced, the first video featuring the same blurry features was made public.
Put together as a series of static images, the video show the future Durango from a variety of angles and it even goes as far as to present us with a partially full image of the front of the car. But, unfortunately, that's pretty much it. Even so the model has been pretty much uncovered via a Twitter leak back in July.
Otherwise, there's little info to go on when trying to find something new about the new Durango. What is known is that the vehicle will be using the platform currently featured on the Jeep Grand Cherokee, on top of which Chrysler will be throwing a more American-looking body (read massive and angular).
The platform used by the Durango fits like a charm together with the Pentastar 3.6l V6 and the 5.7l Hemi V8 engines, so its likely they'll get their place under the hood.
Chrysler is also said to be planning a more luxurious version of the model, one that might be called Citadel.
