Do Amputated Legs Ever Grow Back?

A mind-boggling story comes once again from the UK, the place where, for instance, a crash warning triggered by mistake aboard a British Airways flight scared the hell out of 275 passengers on Tuesday. This time however, it's all about the black humor, or over-optimistic thinking of British authorities.

Lance Corporal Johno Lee is one of the thousands soldiers who were sent to Afghanistan to fight in the terror war which ignited after the September 11 attacks. In 2008, Lee had to be sent home, after an an explosion in Helmand Province left him without his right leg.

Since 2008, Lance Corporal Johno Lee also managed to get 800 pounds ($1,233, EUR971) in parking tickets because the Nottinghamshire County Council denied him a blue badge, the little thing which would give him the right to park close to where he needs to go without many questions asked.

But it's not the sum billed by the city to his name which shocks, but the reason why he was denied a blue badge. The aforementioned Nottinghamshire County counselors didn't give him one because... he is young and might get better...

“I replied that they possibly did not quite understand the situation and that I thought it unlikely my leg would grow back,”
Lance Corporal Johno Lee told Daily Mail.

The Nottinghamshire decided to give Lance Corporal Johno Lee one more chance and announced they will review his situation. Probably they will call for several foreign experts to verify whether his leg grew back or not.

"We will urgently assess whether he meets the criteria for a disabled parking badge as laid down by the Department of Transport," the Council's Service director Paul McKay told the source.
