DMC Makes Lamborghini V12 Shoot Flames

With the advent of turbocharging and supercharging, getting a lot of power out of an engine has become so simple, that all you need is a few spanners and a DIY kit you printed off the internet to get things going. However, actually fine-tuning a naturally-aspirated engine, to make it more powerful, better and more efficient seems to be dying art.

German Luxury Tuner, DMC
, have taken the standard 580 hp V12 engine out of a Lamborghini Murcielago and without the use of any sort of forced induction whatsoever, they have got it up to 800 hp. The engine was modified for the company’s Murcielago LP800 project, and it is the most powerful of its kind in the world (probably).

Fitting a turbocharger to a V12, while it may be a quick and relatively easy way to get power, it is no match for the immediacy and sheer response of a properly-tuned naturally-aspirated unit, which will literally break your neck if you accelerate too vigorously off the line.
