There’s a very good reason why Ferrari isn’t making any cars cheaper than the California, and that’s because that’s Maserati’s job. The two companies are, after all, under Fiat’s protective umbrella. The aftermarket industry offers all the possibilities you could ever dream off, so why not take a Maserati GranCabrio and make it as powerful as a Ferrari 458 Spider?
That’s what famed German tuner DMC decided to do when they got hold of a simple Maserati convertible. They took the 4.7-liter V8 and supercharged to give it 590 PS and 472Nm (348 lb-ft) of torque at 5,400rpm.
The exterior has also been transformed into something befitting such power. DMC added a body kit that is made up of a new front bumper, side skirts and rear diffuser. They se are all made from carbon fiber to save weight, further increasing performance.
The orange rocket sits on black 20-inch wheels and custom shock absorbers which are 30 mm lower than stock.
