As promised in the beginning of the weekend, Codemasters released the first trailer of the third installment of the DIRT franchise. Featuring Ken Block as the main advertiser for the game, the trailer shows a mix of gymkhana, rally driving and pyrotechnics, linked together in a very well rendered environment.
Unfortunately, the game developer did not make any mentions yet on when the game will be released. We're anxiously waiting for a gameplay trailer as well. Yet, some lucky ones have already played the game and promise the third of the series to be mind blowing.
“We’ve seen it, we’ve played it, and we’re absolutely blown away. It’s bigger and better than DiRT 2 in every respect – with some absolutely cracking new cars. Well, technically ‘new’ cars,” Jon Hicks, editor for the Official Xbox Magazine was quoted as saying by playstationlifestyle.net.
Small pieces of information are available though. Codemasters promises on the game's Facebook page that DIRT 3 comes with “more rally, classic cars, rain, snow, new locations, gymkhana, lots of content to chew on.”
On Saturday, prior to the release of the trailer during the ESPN X Games 16, Codemasters said it will make more info available sometime during this week.
Confirmed ever since March 2010, DIRT 3 is to bring a more European approach for DIRT 3, given its predecessor's American feel.
“Dirt 2: brilliant game but it’s all American accents, so maybe we’re a little over the top with those. Maybe we should fly the flag a bit more,” Codemasters Studios vice president Gavin Cheshire said back in March.
