We've known for a while know that the new Toyota Supra is coming, and it's coming fast. Soon after the unveiling of its sibling BMW Z4, the Supra has already been confirmed as perhaps the most exciting premiere at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
As usual when such a high-profile car is about to be launched, the Internet goes nuts looking for info and picks, and gets filled with fan renderings, spy shots and alleged leaks. The latest such leak comes from Supra-specialized website Supramkv.

This past Friday, one of the website’s staff members posted three pics of a stunning looking car. The user, identified as Supra93, says “I got a random tip saying this is the new Supra” and then goes on asking people if they believe this is just another rendering of the Supra or the real deal.

Since there’s no way for us to track down the source of the photos, we’re left wondering the same thing.

That’s until we get a closer look at the photos. After careful scrutiny, we opt to say that no, this is not the real Supra, but just a very cool render.

Why is this not the real car? Look carefully at the front and back ends, in two distinct pictures. See how the lines don’t match? If not, check the differences in the gallery above.

Overall, this rendering of the Supra maintains the overall lines of the car, seen before in spy shots. It is also a decently done render of the car. But no, it’s not the real deal.

So we’ll have to wait some more until the first real photos of the Supra surface. Our guess is that will happen after we pass into the New Year. But who knows, maybe Toyota has a Christmas present prepared for us and will show it before that.
