Di Resta to Drive for Force India in Valencia Practice

Scottish driver Paul di Resta will reportedly continue his adventure inside the VJM03 this season with one and a half hours of action during the practice session of the European Grand Prix, in Valencia. According to the Force India Mercedes team, the reserve driver will substitute German driver Adrian Sutil in the first Friday practice.

Prior to the start of the season, Di Resta was promised practice time in Force India's 2010 challenger for selected rounds during the ongoing campaign. However, on some occasions, the plan changed due to independent factors. In Monaco, Di Resta was not given any time inside the VJM03 due to the team trying to give both its regular drivers as much time as needed on the streets of the Principality, while in Turkey the team implemented its new F-duct system.

Additionally, the special surface of the Montreal track made Force India again depend on its two racing drivers for all the three practice sessions in play, meaning Di Resta's contribution was delayed for the 3rd consecutive time.

For Valencia however, the Scottish driver will certainly make the FP1 field, with Liuzzi taking the wheel of the remaining VJM03 – as he has no prior knowledge of the track, this being the first season he races in F1 since his demise from Toro Rosso at the end of 2007. Di Resta has also been confirmed by the British GP, where he'll substitute Liuzzi in FP1.

Di Resta's practice plan this season will hopefully give him some race time in 2011, when he'll try and secure a starting spot with his Force India outfit.
