The Mk3 MINI was launched last year, on November 18, through 3 different event held on 3 continents, from Los Angeles to London and Tokyo. After all, this is a special car in everyone’s mind.
Until reaching that point, however, where the new cars are already in production and decisions were made as to how they would look like, a lot of work was done by the design team.

In case of the MINI, it’s an even greater challenge. If for a random new car you can go as wild as the company allows, in the case of a traditional, well-known icon, you’re restricted by some character traits you have to include in the end product.

The team did great though, creating a new model that is both instantly recognizable and up to date. However, in a recent interview, Peter Schwartzenbauer, MINI’s Brand boss, claimed that for further exclusivity, all future models should be designed in the UK by British designers. Therefore, we might see a different face on the Mk4 models, in the future.
