We live in the 21st century and technology rules everything - whenever something goes wrong, people turn to the god of technology to solve the problem. Wel, this time, a natural phenomenon as old as the world itself turned out ot be just too much for man-made creations to handle - for the first time ever in the Dayton 500’s history, the race was postponed all due to the heavy rain that flooded the track.
On Sunday, the officials waited over four hours before taking the decision to reschedule the race, with the oval track being invaded by millions of drops of water. The 500-mile event is scheduled to take place today and will be aired on Fox.
However, the forecasts show that we’ll only get more rain, but the organizers are prepared to do whatever it takes to hold the race, such as a night edition. This is because pushing the event to Tuesday would make life extremely difficult for teams who need to head out to Phoenix for the following race.
