Spanish yacht designer Jay Aberdoni exceeds expectations once again by unveiling a new superyacht concept that proves there are no boundaries to what savvy and talented designers can conceive.
In a quest to create a watercraft capable of providing a different experience to knowledgeable yacht owners, Aberdoni has come up with a new pioneering superyacht concept called Day One.

Jay Aberdoni is well-known in the yachting world for his daring concepts that push the boundaries and envision a brighter future. The Monaco-based designer started his eponymous studio a few years ago after a successful stint as a senior yacht designer for Alberto Mancini Yacht Design.

Described as a "gentleman's yacht," Day One is the latest addition to Aberdoni's portfolio and measures an impressive 239 feet (73.3 meters) in length. The conceptual vessel is essentially a "design that chases beauty," boasting a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette and an exterior design characterized by "dominant minimalism," according to the independent designer. With a streamlined profile defined by clean, sweeping lines contrasted by concentric circles for the deck configuration, it indeed reminisces the minimalist vessels of the 1960s and '70s. At the same time, the superyacht represents a fashionable reinterpretation of minimalist design, as it also exudes elegance and sophistication.

As Aberdoni explains, Day One "was conceived to capture that classic elegance that yachting is all about," and "Every surface is a sublime expression of confidence and style, which is only suited for the nonconformists."

The superyacht is envisioned with low bulwarks and extensive glazing that helps create ample social spaces that seamlessly blend into one another and provide guests onboard far-reaching views of the ocean. The lack of formal partitions, recurring use of glass, and fully retractable sliding doors also contribute to creating one large open-plan living space with easy access to all indoor and outdoor areas. This incredibly open layout not only enhances the living experience but also allows those onboard to feel at one with their surroundings.

In terms of accommodation, Day One is envisioned with a six-stateroom configuration for as many as 11 guests. The owner would benefit from a sumptuous forward-facing master suite designed to offer both comfort and luxury with a dedicated bow terrace equipped with a Jacuzzi and infinity lounge.

The focus on luxury for all guests is highlighted by the inclusion of all sorts of modern amenities, such as a plush cinema room, a beach club gym and spa, a refined upper-deck dining area, and a helipad. The upper deck is dedicated to socialization and relaxation, with its open-plan layout including a television lounge, bar-style seating, and a dip pool surrounded by plush sofas.

Another standout feature of this conceptual design is the stern area, where a tender garage is neatly concealed behind a wooden slat wall that slides away to create a generous outdoor terrace when at anchor. Moreover, by folding out the transom and side terraces, you get even more space for waterside sunbathing and relaxation. This setup also opens up the lower deck lounge and dining area, offering stunning ocean views.

Aberdoni outdid himself once again with this new concept, showcasing how the onboard living experience can be taken to new heights. With its seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, the abundance of leisure amenities, and luxury features, Day One is sure to fire the imagination of the next generation of yacht owners.
