Danny Webb to Ride the Mahindra Mojo at 2011 Thundersprint

While getting ready to show his skills aboard the all-new Mahindra 125GP bike, British rising star Danny Webb is to make a return at this year’s Thundersprint on a bike never before seen outside of India: the 300cc Mahindra Mojo.

The liquid-cooled, 4-valve single engine fitted in the Mojo produces a claimed peak power rating of 26 horsepower at 8,500 rpm. It sports 17" alloy spoke wheels mounted with disc brakes front and rear, inverted front forks and a mono shock suspension arrangement for the rear.

Mahindra says that the Mojo's LED taillight and twin barrel headlight is "sure to rewrite the design standard of the Indian bike industry."

“I just love the atmosphere at the Thundersprint. The crowds are great and always very welcoming,” the 20-year-old British rider said.
“But what’s going to make this year really special is that I will be riding a 300cc Mahindra Mojo – a really funky, fun bike which is being launched just a few weeks before the Thundersprint.”

The Mahindra Group is the first Indian motorcycle manufacturer to enter a team into the FIM Road Racing World Championship. Competing alongside Webb this year will be 18-year-old teammate Marcel Schrotter. They will both be next in action at Jerez in Spain for a three-day test on March 4-6 ahead of the season opening round as part of the Qatar Grand Prix on March 17-20.

“The Thundersprint is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s biggest motorcycling events and that’s why we have decided to show our first mainstream motorcycle at the event. The Mahindra Mojo is all about fun – just like the Thundersprint – and we’re sure that Danny will have a great time on the bike entertaining the huge crowds,”
Mufaddal Choonia, Mahindra Racing Team Principal, said in a statement for the press.
